The following is from my sister and I’m sure you know her husband Matt is a police officer. It sounds like a lot of these people are coming in from out of state to cause trouble. Northpark is trending on Twitter right now. She said Highland Park Village has been mentioned as well. Just wanted to let you know. Matt is home safe. He said downtown is completely effed... most businesses have been smashed in and looted. They were shooting guns, smashing business, looting, they set 4 squad cars on fire, shouted every profanity under the sun at cops and threw rocks at them and their cars as they went by, Matt’s car included. They (DPD) were told the whole time to do nothing. They finally let SWAT do some tear gas and flash bangs. Today is supposed to be worse. Matt says DO NOT GO TO NORTH PARK today and really don’t go anywhere unless it’s church. They are supposed to tear up North Park, so stay away and tell all your friends to stay away."
