The reason you get away with 80%s is because it's not a functioning firearm so no FFL is required. If you sell it you technically just sold someone a ghost gun.

Actually you can legally sell a ghost gun as long as your INTENT wasn't to do so when you built it. Laws in our favor probably won't matter to the ATF though.

@Anonymoose jsdsupply.com patented 80% Sig Sauer P320s. They call it MUP-1. Those and Glocks are the only 80% handguns I know about.

This is really part of the reason I need to build one.

There’s no actual legal number or percent. Either it’s a functioning firearm or it isn’t, but a reasonable person would say something 30 seconds with a hand drill away from being functioning is a firearm
