And many people drive home drunk and are perfectly fine
Message permalink: 722880298341105754
As dumb and as stupid as drinking and driving is, until you actually harm someone youāve done nothing wrong
Message permalink: 722880385192558602
I can drive high af and drunk af, still drive better than most everyone here can drive sober
Message permalink: 722880419414147134
I firmly believe if you kill someone while intoxicated it should tried as murder 1
Message permalink: 722880426733076500
here as in where I live.
Message permalink: 722880513735655435
I can see that sparky
Message permalink: 722880676751474749
But is that the right choice @Randy @Randy ? As a responsible adult?
Message permalink: 722880710695977040
No. But as long as he doesnāt hurt anyone I donāt see a problem
Message permalink: 722880783215493301
Most people are going to say no, but if you can drive safer than everyone else on the road despite being intoxicated, I don't see why it's any less responsible than the way these other people are driving.
Message permalink: 722881073364861079
But the odds that you do hurt someone is dramatically higher by doing so. So is that equitable under the law to Janice and her 2 kids you killed while doing it?
Message permalink: 722881257456795709
Pretty sure negligent homicide is a charge in many places.
Message permalink: 722881476072439808
But it should be murder 1@Potatoes O'Reilly
Message permalink: 722881589997994074
It's not dramatically higher. I saw *four* deer while on a drive just last night. Didn't hit any. I've seen many animals and avoided collisions on many occasions while driving drunk and high, although most often just high.
Message permalink: 722881682281201665
I've actively avoided collisions that would have been the fault of other drivers.
Message permalink: 722881862845988904
But it's a conscious decision to do so
Message permalink: 722881873461641393
As an individual that is probably true, but on a national scale?

Worse drivers pass their exams for their license. I don't see why you can't have something similar for driving while intoxicated. Or just continue pulling over people who are driving erratically, and charge them based on their erratic driving and not on the basis that they're intoxicated.
Message permalink: 722882580197802145
You could even go so far as to just add it to the demerit point system, and make an infraction while intoxicated cost more points.
Message permalink: 722882697130934393
> Worse drivers pass their exams for their license. I don't see why you can't have something similar for driving while intoxicated. Or just continue pulling over people who are driving erratically, and charge them based on their erratic driving and not on the basis that they're intoxicated. @Randy I think it should be based on the level of intoxication. If your .08 you get a ticket and a fine, they call someone to come get you. If your .15 that's a trip to the big house
Message permalink: 722883040245841980
If you drive well enough absolutely shitfaced you won't get pulled over anyway. Kinda works itself out.
Message permalink: 722883375295103028
Of course, I avoid the problem entirely by driving so well I don't get pulled over. But in the event that I go into a store and smell like weed, and a cop sees me pulling out of the parking lot in a car, I don't see why that should land me any punishment.
Message permalink: 722883404651036732
I think erratic driving should be the basis of any stop. DUI checkpoints and staking out the local bar should be against policy or against the law as entrapment.
Message permalink: 722884249958613002
I can agree to that. I don't like the police by any means, but frankly if they care about reducing vehicular accidents they should hand out tickets for tailgating, and other things more often. Instead the police spend resources here terrorising 17 year olds for selling weed, and other more mundane stuff.
Message permalink: 722885240321998938
Either way, I'm a pragmatic anarchist. Any reduction in government pleases me. That's why I actually vote, unlike 99% of other anarchists.
Message permalink: 722885302968123423

Message permalink: 722885431930257589
But people driving around here really piss me off.
Message permalink: 722885528227151953
I worked in a jail for a long time until very recently
Message permalink: 722888835150905416
So the drug thing Iām gonna remain on the fence about
Message permalink: 722888880973414500
Small, insignificant county, where nobodyās remember your name. Bumfuck nowhere basically. 95% of incarcerations were meth related. Armed burglary while high on dope is pretty common amongst the recidivists here.
Message permalink: 722889461561557094
Iād be willing to talk all day about prison reform
Message permalink: 722889523243122829
But drugs
Message permalink: 722889555786858586
On the fence
Message permalink: 722889602158952575
On one hand I can see the reasoning behind decriminalizing it all. No value = no point making and selling it. But in a small town where that shit runs thicker than blood, I highly doubt itās gonna go away
Message permalink: 722889959945797663
Itās not about making drugs go away. Drugs will never go away and always be a problem. The main argument is freedom
Message permalink: 722890113473970218
The state has no right to tell you what you can or can not put in your body, and the state has no right to tell you what you can or canāt sell. Whether or not drugs are good or bad is wholly irrelevant.
Message permalink: 722890137167593527
(And also the war on drugs was *literally* started to harass POC, thatās a fact)
Message permalink: 722890254675214387
Basically what crye said^
Message permalink: 722890517334982697
Weed....meh, don't care so much but I think people in some forms of employment should be restricted. As someone that drives an 80k lbs truck I really don't think drivers need to be able to smoke weed when their on the road
Message permalink: 722891201296203899
But that can be taken care of via company policy.
Message permalink: 722891487800459397
Yeah, no point involving the government where they need not be involved. If someone crashes into someone else driving an 18-wheeler high af, they can lobby the company to change their policy.
Message permalink: 722892049090609282
^exactly. We can encourage and enforce morality and safety without swat teams flashbanging cribs looking for weed
Message permalink: 722892078568308748
Again though....if you kill someone in an 80k truck high af then it should be murder 1 and there's a few states where it is
Message permalink: 722892606002036747
If driving high is intent to kill, then so is pointing a loaded firearm in the wrong direction
Message permalink: 722892825032786041
I don't think these people are planning to kill anyone
Message permalink: 722892974685683746
There are no doubt a list of other things people could do that could be construed as pre-meditated murder if that were the case
Message permalink: 722893164066897961
assuming you applied the logic consistently
Message permalink: 722893228713705502
I mean no one suggests you arrest people for buying beer because people die in DUIās
Message permalink: 722893353573810228
Being that it's an informed conscious decision to drive high af then yes...should be a murder charge. I didn't think so until it happened to my brother in law. 18yo kid drunk af pulled out of a side street and into his bike. Of course it was California and in the end the kid wasn't charged at all
Message permalink: 722894320624992356
Proving intent is extremely hard. And leaving that open to judges can be a dangerous game.
Message permalink: 722895477057650789
Until the court intrigue around self defense shootings ends, people will continue being victims of drug induced/related criminal behavior
Message permalink: 722895910278922300
Iām sure some people rationalize burglary to buy an Xbox
Message permalink: 722896040075853845
But the vast majority do it for drug related debt or to fund addiction
Message permalink: 722896124972892281
Drunkards are sometimes just as bad if not worse than someone strung out on dope, or going through symptoms of withdrawal/pychosis
Message permalink: 722896630902423615
I guess its different most places compared to here. Thereās no ācourt intrigueā for self defense shootings when youāre dead to rights. Of course, our POC count is like....5
Message permalink: 722897027129933888
God forbid that changes

Message permalink: 722913808682582129
Police should withdraw from the shit crime and drug infested neighborhoods and let them implode into the road warrior

Flinch shot
Message permalink: 722915024602923181
Shouldnāt have ever bothered drawing his weapon in the first place
Message permalink: 722915119100723251
You can see him go for it before brooks fires the taser.
Message permalink: 722915183030173797
Shouldn't have fought with the officers and taken the taser off one of them
Message permalink: 722915366367395910
Flinch shot
Message permalink: 722915499138220063
1.5 seconds after brooks fired the tasers he hit the parked car
Message permalink: 722915608009769041
Especially when your drunk ass fell asleep in a drive through that could have been the middle of a highway
Message permalink: 722915613084745839
Yeah because the cunt had the taser. Tase a cop get his service pistol shoot other cop.
Message permalink: 722915984972709978
I'd smoke him too

The cop who shot him is the wrong color so he has to be put in jail for life or executed
Message permalink: 722916603410513991
Good afternoon bois
Message permalink: 722916861611868191
@BugsyBaldwin did he fall asleep in the drive through? I thought he was parked in the parking lot
Message permalink: 722917411686318141
Nope in the drive through the officers made him move his car into a parking space
Message permalink: 722918075589984328
Well officer
Message permalink: 722918199431004211
Got ya
Message permalink: 722918250664427621
The second officer showed up after the car was moved into a parking spot
Message permalink: 722918360685215825
though it's funny... they inadvertently admitted to a tazer being a deadly weapon. Also turns out the tazer had already been discharged twice before he pointed it at him.
Message permalink: 722918428306047007
And he fired it at the lead officer prompting the second officer to fire his service pistol
Message permalink: 722918577509892147
Saw a real piss jug today! Just thought I'd share
