Not in here but in general

People who talk about doing hoodrat shit are scared to do it because there might not be anyone at their back. The ones who do it just don't talk about it at all if they're smart.

I'd think without actual physical needs that everyone would become very passive once they all gained access to a waterproof box with a charging station, entertainment is then a matter of entering a voluntary dream state to experience what ever you want, and being able to connect directly to others to see and feel their memories would make a very tight nit and homogenous society

Almost a collective mind but not quite, everyone would still be able to think independantly but with such a personal level of information sharing and collective experience it would be very hard for anyone to do anything other than get along since you really stand to gain nothing, you don't feel pain, don't get sick, don't age, don't run faster or jump higher than anybody, it would resolve so many minute conflicts you'd never notice just walking down the street

Then we would become **WE**

But what drives competition, I ask

Individuals drive competition

Humans are naturally competitive

It's only natural to want to be better then those around you

Physical mental and possession

And if not then you are not a alpha mindset

Competition is driven by an unlimited want, or need, for limited resources.

Exactly, mental competition is going to be the biggest hurdle, the human mind tends to be a nasty little thing to work with, physical is ruled out by everyone starting out the exact same and having a guarenteed chance to be just as good then it becomes a matter of possesion, nobody needs food or other superflous comodities anymore, so all of your earnings can be spent directly on enhancing yourself, now the only limiting factor is how quick engineers can make more effecient and/or powerful parts and how quickly a mind can comprehend the knowledge of using these parts

Keep in mind, you've essentially lost all "physical needs" in this situation,

Without need, there's no supply and demand curve so the whole concept of economics falls apart. I think people would become incredibly depressed pretty quickly and seek any escape they could get. Maybe through some VR thing, which loops back around to the brain in a vat scenario.

Suddenly exploring other planets becomes really easy

And the rest of the universe for that matter

A handful of nerds might try to document everything for a while

Suddenly the entire agriculture industry is gone, question is, what would we do about nature then? Since you could either filter out the urban hellscape around you and oxygen isn't needed

There wouldn't really be any need to harvest materials so it might just be left unchecked with the occasional nerd studying it

The thing is, then there is no limitation keeping you from always reaching virgin ground to claim as yours, hell having entire solar systems to yourself wouldn't be uncommon

Could shift into something like egoism, with the only property being what you're capable of defending

You are going to specifically pick "territory" you find visually appealing then since there is no inherent value to it for resources, and people vary a lot on what they like looking at

I'd imagine loads of people would see all they wanted to see then hurtle themselves into a balckhole as the final new frontier

Might be cool to be an intergalactic hermit for a bit, exploring stuff, maybe getting bored and hunting dangerous creatures
