Anyone savvy on âanti monitoringâ techniques and such? Iâm looking in to using a VPN on the phone and some other options for keeping private.
Message permalink: 708188919321329704
There has been lots of discussion of that on here. From VPNâs and faradays to entire systems dedicated to secure comma
Message permalink: 708223078605258773
@BOOGEREATER69 Proton VPN is a solid free app. Swiss based, not beholden to us federal law

Can get a Faraday bag off of Amazon for 25 buck. Have one coming in today actually. But I got it for work, still though I hear they work well.
Message permalink: 708350935511859271
And VPNs are good, Why not double down?
Message permalink: 708351135421038663
If you want to go a step further, get a phone without GPS. But a Faraday bag will help block everything so long as it's in the bag.
Message permalink: 708351265603715083
Faraday bags should be used for F2F meetings.
Message permalink: 708352288925810699
Be careful with VPNs.
Message permalink: 708352306730500107
Just because it switches your IP doesnât mean the government cannot see the logs and where the original IP originates from.
Message permalink: 708352389463408650
And quite often, most VPNs locates in the US are going to have some connection to the government.
Message permalink: 708352581998739487
That's why I would only consider VPN companies outside of the U.S.
Message permalink: 708354832997548154
Nord VPN is based out of Panama.
Message permalink: 708355389376299109
Express VPN is offered by the British Virgin Islands
Message permalink: 708355676417556490
And so is Surfshark VPN
Message permalink: 708355798727786516
Swiss software is amazing because they donât like the US.
Message permalink: 708358644638679060
ProtonVPN and NordVPN are rock solid. I use Private Internet Access, but I believe they're US based. It still keeps me from getting angry copyright infringement letters though.
Message permalink: 708361316712316928
VPN shouldnât be your entire ass security plan, but itâs a helpful measure

old cpus dont have it tho, and arm cpus dont either, librebooting is a way to get rid of it on older systems, and this is why in dont have a phone, but there is also a tradeoff its harder to monitor IME than it is to monitor discord it would take insane resources to constatnly monitor everyone with IME, so im sure they don, but targetedly, sure, however IME can read memory and send whatever but it has to catch you in the act, while discortd for example has logs, and that is the diffrence, so logging is the really dangerous one, yes it is possible to get out of line access to memory with IME but it requires individula attention and there is no backlog
Message permalink: 708409665062699039
Of course, thatâs if you get on a list in the first place.

youll almost never not be tracked someway somehow so if you really wanna not be tracked get a virtual machine use duckduckgo or tor browser, and have everything on 1 hard drive you can throw in a microwave
Message permalink: 708439264404439101
also never post pictures you took with your phone or snapchat bc idk if yall know this but theres programs out there that you can just put the image in and it tells you the metadata which says your exact location
Message permalink: 708439438061076492
some guy i know saved pictures from peoples facebook where their "secret" fishing spot was and then used the program to find out where it was

Got my Mission Darkness Farady Bag in today. Got it for work, but in case anyone is curious, it blocked all signals from getting to/from my phone. Good if you're trying to stay dark but don't wanna turn your phone off in case you need to be able to access it without turning it back on.

If you're that worried about being monitored through your computer, build a raspberry pi with a linux variant and use it for comms and secure storage.

On a more serious note, I did see something really strange on my trip into Worcester today. The two gun shops I passed on the way(one small locally owned and a larger one) both had police sitting in the lots. The small one in my town is usually frequented by the local pd so no shocker there, but the other larger shop had a state police cruiser clearly just staking out the lot. MA is NOT gun friendly but seeing that was.....concerning. The Gov just had to allow the shops to open back up, and I clearly got the "intimidation" vibe from the statey camped out

Hell you can build an actual claymore for personal use if you have the license, but it requires paperwork and money
Message permalink: 712854720456425472
You have to have a federal high speed noise dust license to purchase said materials unless it's exempt (like bullet gogo juice) or built into a device that contains under 4 ounces of it, but you don't have to have that license to make it. You must have a form 1 permit to create a single nono noisemaker if it's designed for "non sporting" purposes (making ouchies). However if it burns instead of pops, you don't need that because it's not classified as a nono noisemaker, so you could totally legally make your own self oxidizing iron puddle maker and even throw it.
Message permalink: 712859302955843604
(jfc I about had an aneurism writing that)
Message permalink: 712859359482478654
If you want to have an aneurysm go and read Canada's Firearms Laws and try to make sense of them. Even specialized firearms lawyers trained specifically in Canadian firearms law walk away with bleeding ears and eyeballs.
