one thing i will tell you, and you will experience this whether you get a PTR or a century

is that it has a break-in period

not so much that the gun won't work as well during the break-in period, but the charging handle is ***extremely*** stiff

like, when i first got it i thought the gun was broken

i had to pull so hard on the charging handle i saw stars and bruised my hands after a range trip

i had to put about 500rds thru it before it wasnt that bad, i'm about 1200 in now and it's still a complete bitch to charge, just not quite as awful as it was

it's not anything to do with the brand, it's just the nature of roller-delayed blowback

hoooonestly i'd save for a FAL or get an AR10

G3s are cool but i wish i'd have gotten an AR10

for the option on parts, aftermarket, accuracy, and ease of cleaning

PTRs are accurate but if you get good shit you can get an AR10 sub-moa

and let me tell you something about cleaning

G3s are a *whore* to clean

and because they're roller delayed blowback, you need to clean them every 500rds or so

i shoot 1 mag and the thing is completely filthy

The roller wears on those as well dint they? I'm more of a bladed weapons nerd than firearms

@NwSamsquatch Hunter the rollers will last forever, dw about that. the gun just gets disgusting after a while

and you have to rotate the bolt, that's under spring pressure, to clean it... so

that and the gun is really hard to reach inside of to clean the actual receiver body

all that said, the gun is a dream to shoot and i love it to death

i just kinda wish i wouldve gotten an AR10 instead

tell you one thing it is nice that mags are so cheap

G3 mags are about $5 a piece, and i got a bulk deal for 19 mags for $3 a piece after i got it
