There is a war going on right now for control of the world economy between the US dollar and the Chinese Yuan. This war has been building for decades, but it is now coming to a head. The dollar is losing. The US dollar may (and probably WILL) lose its' status as the world's reserve currency to the Chinese Yuan or any other currency that is backed by gold. The Yuan is either fully backed by gold now or will soon be fully backed by gold. This is going to force the Saudis to choose between being loyal to the US, or doing what is in its' best economic interests. People in this country don't know this, and don't understand this. What I believe is likely to happen is that in the very near future the US dollar will become worth a whole lot less to the rest of the world. The price of foreign goods, including oil, are likely to skyrocket. Most people are not going to understand this, and will not be prepared for this.
