Why
Message permalink: 705796831547752482
Just why
Message permalink: 705796839663861800
I'll put anime stickers on it.
Message permalink: 705797004470517821
And paint the trigger a fleshy pink
Message permalink: 705797080592941119
Not really, I hate that shit.
Message permalink: 705797141561606175
I hate it too but it’s the most memeable handgun ever
Message permalink: 705797244388900934
Yeah, well... the only reason I would wanna do it is because I consider the glock my field gun. Something I don't mind taking outside and getting knocked around.
Message permalink: 705797416137392138
I love my TP9SFX, it's my baby and I save it for competition shooting. And the P320 is cool.
Message permalink: 705797512988196927
But the glock... it works, I know it's tough, and I'm okay if it gets a little roughed up. It has a good track record.
Message permalink: 705797640377335828
Darkstar gear
Message permalink: 705798386292621394
I'll check them out
Message permalink: 705798870143074376
Wait, do they only do IWBs?
Message permalink: 705799199681282108
There's no reason to have owb unless it's required for your job
Message permalink: 705800432835887154
Yeah, I'm talking for field use as in... I'm gonna be armed-armed. I already have a EDC
Message permalink: 705800714236198944
Ahh okay. Really safariland seems to be everyone's go to for duty holsters
Message permalink: 705800817059299358
I'd probably suggest als with a hood
Message permalink: 705800916967620618
Yeah, I've noticed. Though I'm looking at We The People Holsters right now... it's definitely cheaper. And more open, I personally hate multiple-level retention holsters.

Gucci glocks are stupid as fuck. But I love em.
Message permalink: 705801281712816249
Agreed American. Why spend all that money on a mediocre pistol to make it good. When you can just get a good pistol. Hahaha
Message permalink: 705801385920430122
But I'd be lying if I said I don't think they look and feel good.
Message permalink: 705801434268172348
I have a couple “Gucci” guns. I find them Absurd, but will always have em 😂
Message permalink: 705801805157630013
I have to talk myself out of buying a yeet cannon every time I see one. Like. I want it as a novelty. 😂❤️
Message permalink: 705801999932719155
Hahaha, I get it. Same reason I'd get a 1911, I'd never actually use one. But it'd be a fun showpiece
Message permalink: 705802351612526602
Poor quality kydex, bad retention, weak hardware, and no customer support
Message permalink: 705802577161355317
Also lol is that internet explorer?
Message permalink: 705802702336294922
I want a Gucci Scar and it hurts my heart that they’re so fucking expensive
Message permalink: 705803718184140853
https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/fbi-agent-accidentally-shoots-bar-patron-gun-falls/story?id=55614488 This is why retention is important. Are you going to be doing backflips? No, probably not. You may be running, jumping, crawling, sliding, or doing any number of activities that could cause a pistol to fall out though. With the ALS, the pistol is held into place until you grab it, and your thumb naturally hits the release lever. It's like what serpa wanted to be if it was actually good.
Message permalink: 705803959197237249
Honestly non-retention holster are dumb as fuck imo
Message permalink: 705804285665083473
I mean I could MAYBE see them in competition shooting if like draw speed is THAT important but still, it’s unnecessary
Message permalink: 705804671779864707
But I don’t shoot much so
Message permalink: 705804688607412265
What do I know
Message permalink: 705804700284354570
Typically for concealed carry or some completions you want a level one retention holster. Open carry you want level 3.
Message permalink: 705805160407891989
I genuinely don’t even know the difference
Message permalink: 705805224350187573
1 is friction, 2 is manual operated, 3 is both combined, and apparently there's 4 but idk what it is other than it's not recommended for civilian use
Message permalink: 705805449055699066
Not recommended? That’s weird
Message permalink: 705805698138636420
Manual I guess would be like a finger trigger yeah?
Message permalink: 705805787095629907
Oh like the button on the thumb
Message permalink: 705805847334223943
A good quality kydex holster will grip your pistol and snap into place but anyone can take it out, and it can still fall out under high stress. 2 is something like soft nylon sheath with a button flap, not recommended.
Message permalink: 705805961733865535
Also level 3 holsters that are operated with the trigger finger, like the serpa, are only good for shooting your leg
Message permalink: 705806098254528602
Well, I've used level IIIs before, and yes they are more secure. And generally not too bad. I've had problems with them overseas though. Namely the Blackhawk Serpa holsters.
Message permalink: 705806420628733992
I have had some good ones though
Message permalink: 705806474386997298
To make it simple Kydex aiwb for concealed Safariland als for open. With hood if you're in law enforcement or security.
Message permalink: 705806533782667324
Message permalink: 705806691291365455
Serpa bad
Message permalink: 705806722530279567
Message permalink: 705806956740345926
Yep, ran one of these POSs
Message permalink: 705806990705688657
🤮
Message permalink: 705807109161484400
Well you didn't have a choice i guess lol
Message permalink: 705807201024999435
I normally ran it off of belt or on my chest though
Message permalink: 705807231139971072
I don't care for drop leg.
Message permalink: 705807259996782663
Yeah i don't really like drop leg because it slows me down
Message permalink: 705807368021213255
It gets irritating after wearing it for a long time.
Message permalink: 705807438787510363
I want the weight more balanced and up to the center.
Message permalink: 705807480709578783
Rather than on my leg.
Message permalink: 705807505485463563
Oh man I don't have the picture anymore but there was one of a guy on Facebook. He had a baby holder chest rig thing with molle on the outside, and his serpa mounted to it
Message permalink: 705807915491262525
Father of the year
Message permalink: 705807991022157894
Omg, that is cringe, hahaha
Message permalink: 705808043216076881
And checked safariland, they don't make the kind of holster I want. The ones with light cuts, don't have optic cuts.
Message permalink: 705808425472229437
JM custom kydex makes some good stuff. I have an owb holster from them for competition and class, but it looks like they don't do active retention. Very high quality kydex though, it's thick and grips like crazy.

Message permalink: 705809586237734952
Hmmm, thick you say?
Message permalink: 705810127768387676
It's ugly as hell, but if it works, it works.
Message permalink: 705810174274830336
Comes in different colors at least, though lead times can be a bit long
Message permalink: 705810357574172692
I've got one for my vp9 with tlr1. I also have a couple cheap kydex holsters for comparison, and they feel completely different, almost like they're using different materials. The cheap ones are super flimsy but this thing is rock solid.
Message permalink: 705810770704990271
I've also noticed that no companies make holsters with a TLR-3 as a light choice. So I may have to spend a little and also get a TLR-1
Message permalink: 705811090327732284
Fuck it, I might just have to find a guy to make me a custom holster again.
Message permalink: 705813454723874877
I had a custom one made, but I didn't have it molded for a light.
Message permalink: 705813505097465896
Yeah tlr1 is the only streamlight flashlight that people usually make holsters for unless it's a subcompact, in which case tlr6
Message permalink: 705813532846981201
I might just upgrade to the TLR-1 anyway for it's more rugged construction.
Message permalink: 705813646357561386
Plus, I sitll got one of those old ass Army drop legs that were thick nylon. Hahaha
Message permalink: 705813762653028445
It's a good light. They also make extended switches for them

Roast my little hackjob. Chopped the 17 frame to a 19 and added grip tape
Message permalink: 705814105738444851
There's much more to be done. That's just the start.
Message permalink: 705814141516120114
But yeah, the TLR-1 is nice, I'll probably go with that. Or look at a Surefire X300 maybe.
Message permalink: 705814286772994150
I like it 🤷🏽♂️
Message permalink: 705814293488205916
Not sure yet
Message permalink: 705814301579149362
Like honestly, the grip tape was an awesome cheap mod.
Message permalink: 705814392708530190
It's actually a camoflauge barrel wrap tape. But... it's basically a thick padded grip tape
Message permalink: 705814520634802317
I might end up upgrading the trigger. I'll putting a red dot and some suppressor height sights on though. Maybe get a threaded barrel down the line too.
Message permalink: 705814977990099035
Gonna regret that grip tape later bud
Message permalink: 705815148790808576
So far I haven't. I even went so far as to put it on my ARs with A2 handles. But hey, if it gets to be a pain, I'll remove it.
Message permalink: 705815744130187311
Actually, while I have some time. I'm gonna do a little shooting before work.
Message permalink: 705816206640283668
Why regret it? @Crye Salesman
Message permalink: 705816317739139153
I can think of two possible reasons... 1 That most tapes have a sticky residue that can be left on the weapon's surface. Mine does not, so I'm good there. And 2, the material itself can start to irritate the shooter or possibly come loose from friction/wear and tear. However, even if that were the case, it is very simple for me to remove.
Message permalink: 705816727291953214
It's not a permanent fixture, just something to add a little extra meat on the grip.
Message permalink: 705816815909077064
Yeah that’s true. Idk I feel like I would like grip tape.
Message permalink: 705817673463890140
Stippling is nice but it’s a little slippery to me
Message permalink: 705817723808251986
I use Monett Self-Cling concealment wrap. Camo form LT
Message permalink: 705818168794415195
Made in the good ole USA
Message permalink: 705818233411862669
Looking to build a budget AR-15, don't really care if I have to piecemeal and assemble the parts but I do want it to be complete as opposed to an 80%er. Unless one of you kind gentleman has a drill press and experience with it. Any suggestions on online gun markets/manufacturers
Message permalink: 705834274548613203
Well... There's always PSA, but if you want to spend a little more for better QC, Aero.
Message permalink: 705834479280717877
I would recommend you save up a little bit, and use Aero receivers.
Message permalink: 705834628300275713
Many thanks, I was looking at those two. Seemed like a safe bet. Aero even has the pew pew pew model lower for sale currently
