A good man once told me

Look for the tqs that are certified

NAR CAT 5 was one he recommended

if it's cheap and new

it's probably a knock off

There is actually another one i think that's certified. the windlass is a racheting device that claims to have better clamping force, it functions similar to a CAT, except instead of velcro its a snap lock, then you spin the windlass, however what i I've been told is that if the snap fails or the rachet fails you then use it as a regular CAT. So once again just buy the CAT

generally the windlass ones are the ones you need to make sure are certified

cause if the bar breaks during aplication then bad things probably happen

True, I'm trying to find the one i mentioned, i learned about it in the TCCC course i took. Another big thing is the elastic band that the windlass tightens snaps from being made of cheap materials

@«grëžgöv» really it's just a few more toys in the kit. Paramedics can perform advanced airway maneuvers, IV fluid/drugs, IM drugs, Needle Decompression, Surgical Airways on some states. But for the most part trauma is going to be BLS in the Short Term, ALS of you need to manage them long term
