Ok those articles show that one cop got caught. But I worked on the streets on MA with cops doing details. They hate going to court.

It does usually get dismissed but the arrest record remains and the domino effect of even a single night in jail can lead down some very rough roads

Also I just watched the newest episode of the emilitia podcast where they had the guys who got arrested in Odessa Texas. The officers were talking about seeing what sticks, and knew that they didn't have anything to stand on. They got felony charges on innocent people's records just to keep them in jail for one day and harass them, knowing that they'd drop the charges later.
