My dad would probably know. He and his best friend, who was even more of a knife guy, would go around to gun shows back in the day and buy up rare knives that the dealers didn't know about and had underpriced

I went through their knives after they died, looking up every one to see what they were worth. We sold his collection and gave all the money to his widowed wife to set her up for a while. I don't remember seeing anything hogue in there.

I can build that same gun for sub 2k to around 2.1k factoring in sales and used parts

the hq gun im going to build costs less than that without optics 😂

My in progress BCM/Brownells hybrid build with optic costs way less than that

I built my aero for around 1.2K

thats just a guess I haven't done a tally

A 40 in the gun would almost certainly make going prone more dificult without canting your rifle

I think I’d rather go D60 than a 40 stick

I think the 40 is 9.25

A 30rnd mag is gonna be about 2-3 inchs shorter than a 40rnd

At least a similar brand 40 is 9.25

Anyone have any experience with the 100rd beta mags?

not really familiar with mags that high capacity

generally if it's meant to have a lot of bullets coming out of it I would want my gun to be belt fed

No first hand experience but I've heard they function okay but are to heavy to be used as anything but a range toy

Soldiers aren't firing on full auto with their normal rifles anyways, 30 rounds isn't that bad, a magazine change isn't the worse thing ever.

For the 20 bucks on their website, I seriously doubt the electronics are impact resistant, or contain quality components at all. It might make a good stocking stuffer for kids.

No candela rating, and they talk about "modding" it on the manufacturer website to hit the maximum lumens

BCM also makes an a5 tube. It's slightly longer than a carbine tube

and if you can't find a Vltor a5 buffer, Slash's heavy buffers custom makes them. Their lightest one is 4oz instead of 3.8 though.
