I think the MCX is more *masada* than the ACR is

The stock. Kinda the handguard. The barrels where more interchangeable than a typical ar, but still not the way the Masada was spec’d to be

So the only part that's widely available and used on other guns, the stock, was right

I mean the lower *looks* right, but the Masada was much more about the engineering than the exterior aesthetics

Got my buffer in. Had to look it up when I noticed it didn't rattle, apparently a5 buffers have a spring inside instead of letting weights freely slide

Okay, now about the spring, how long is it supposed to be

a lot of manufacturers and gun shops sell oops kits. Basically a few springs and detents commonly lost. You should try to find it if you can though

We've all had that happen. One time I brought my AR to the gunshop to have them look at something and one of the springs flew half way across the shop and it was a *big* shop

The a5 buffer is pretty tight in the geissele braided rifle spring. Presses to fit perfectly. I don't know if this will affect things, typically buffers seem to be a bit more loose than this.

Honestly, buy a whole LPK and save the time trying to get a good deal on each part

I was trying to avoid replacing parts in a full LPK.

Get a quality one and it won't matter, don't get super hung up on a grip or trigger

the trigger is the worst part of the bcm

and its a great trigger

I'll admit my version of that rifle is about 100 bucks cheaper since I already have a lower and other bits

Stripped lower is the only part I already have at the moment.

Warning though, if you get that barrel get the one from Faxon in .223 Wylde instead of 556, it's worth it in the long run

I got the s&w M&P for my first ar, along with other essentials. Spend $550 to have something immediately that will still go bang(never had a malfunction, probably 3-4k rounds) then upgrade the parts as you get the cash to make it top end and exactly how you want it
