Message permalink: 723001862734741604
Entire right side of the upper blew out
Message permalink: 723001925012029501

Message permalink: 723001960642510910

Message permalink: 723001998408155187

Message permalink: 723002027109777408
Ah okay. I'd guess 300 in a 556?
Message permalink: 723002086232555642
Well damn
Message permalink: 723002091924357201
A true boomstick
Message permalink: 723002162703106088
I would guess a very hot .300 but we haven't found out quite yet
Message permalink: 723002212636164147
I've seen much worse looking guns after taking a normal 300. That one looks like it held up pretty well
Message permalink: 723002406224396419
Fucking obliterated a colt
Message permalink: 723002468795154473
I mean this one blew out the sid of a DD upper, destroyed the BCG and sheared the lower from the upper *directedly* snapping it from the rear takedown pin
Message permalink: 723002780960161803
Goes to show good quality can save your life. A 300 in a 556 upper is no joke
Message permalink: 723002904260247654
That ACOG is okay without a doubt
Message permalink: 723003141766905988
"if it fits it fires!"
Message permalink: 723003355105984534
you *can* put a .50 bmg into the chamber of a 12 gauge shotgun
Message permalink: 723003491517464626
you won't have a shotgun after that, but who knows
Message permalink: 723003573725560874
It won't blow up a good quality 12ga, the bullet is narrow enough that all the gas vents around it as it leaves the barrel
Message permalink: 723003657930407966
there is a video on youtube of someone doing that
Message permalink: 723003757310246922
he took a little pawn shop shotgun and did it lol
Message permalink: 723003819512037426
Still not reccomended but it shouldn't kill you if you do
Message permalink: 723003843155066911

You can do the same thing with 308 or 243 in a 410 shotgun
Message permalink: 723004539804057644
270 in a 30-06 will fire
Message permalink: 723007016343306241

Message permalink: 723007126917611580

Message permalink: 723007331327279234

Message permalink: 723007518527455264
Ram it home
Message permalink: 723007600618242089

Message permalink: 723007623989035058

Anyone run a nickle boron bcg?
Message permalink: 723014162539610194
No, after digging I've only heard negatives things about them, they don't self lubricate very well and they don't retain lubricant well
Message permalink: 723015029657567244
i do
Message permalink: 723017277338943588
@1-1Cannibal do you run a standard bcg?
Message permalink: 723018071526211634
@Mechromansir any performance gains? Or reliability increases?
Message permalink: 723018756934205560
I run a standard Anderson BCG, yes, so far it's been fine
Message permalink: 723018909212475432
Okey, ive heard mixed reviews from shooters around my area. Thought they might be worth looking into
Message permalink: 723019062577463338
With BCGs either get a TiN or a standard Nitride finish, a lot of it seems to be purely gimic
Message permalink: 723019263618842694
Gotcha, ill check out the Tin
Message permalink: 723019384481644647
cant say yet only have 140rnds on it
Message permalink: 723019407399321623

Message permalink: 723020411696316506
yee i got 1k rounds
Message permalink: 723020453370658866
I'm a bit fuzzy but i think Chad from sotar said he didn't like nickel boron. Could have been a different one though. I think it was something about not retaining lube
Message permalink: 723020684598444063
Sounds about right
Message permalink: 723020763623587844
ya after like 140 rounds it was dry
Message permalink: 723020765758488607

Message permalink: 723022411959894066
its worth it if you shoot a lot
Message permalink: 723022512300228618
Ive seen guys make their own kits. Just a pneumatic cylinder and a small dotter board to keep everything in sync
Message permalink: 723022666373791745
There's tons of different bcg finishes Black nitride is very smooth and tough Phosphate is like nitride for poors (jk) milspec, tough, kinda rough but holds oil well. Also requires more oil though. Nickel boron is super slick but you've gotta constantly lube it so it's not great for large volumes of fire Titanium nitride, oooh pretty gold Chrome, OG stoner spec. Very smooth and tough, but rare to find. Supposedly it peels after a while. Only one I know of is KAC.
Message permalink: 723023923880525935
@Confused suggestions for a dude not on a tight budget, who wants to go 1k between cleanings?
Message permalink: 723024280991826062
In short... Black Nitride is the way to go.
Message permalink: 723024299853873203
Yeah for the most part
Message permalink: 723024353977171989
Roger that
Message permalink: 723024411669692530
With ARs, it's a beautiful balancing act. And the middle tends to give best results.
Message permalink: 723024512861470801
Unless you're building a competition AR, then it changes a little.
Message permalink: 723024558017478746
Should still clean and lube it often. Don't slather the whole thing though, there's only certain parts that need lube
Message permalink: 723024649503375490
Yeah, im not a huge fan of the ar platform but i see the need for it as a useful platform. So im mostly going for reliability
Message permalink: 723024889442730064
When built right, it's very reliable, accurate, and ergonomic. I actually didn't realize just how ergonomic it was until i started trying other guns
Message permalink: 723025265923588146
I grew up on a 700 bolt action, so thats my preferred platform. But i can see why people fall in love with em
Message permalink: 723025459536724030
Id bet my life on any of my bolt guns, not so much on my ar
Message permalink: 723025583046656010
Id love to link up with some guys who shoot them all the time and get some hands on help. I feel like i must be missing something that everyone else found along time ago
