Oh yeah, I like the Magpul K grip honestly. It's comfy to me. I don't really care for the HK battle grips, I don't like the way the palm swells and neck cranes.

Yeah, that's part of my reasoning, it's not going to be permenant but it'll be there till I can go to something really nice, probably about the same time I have to do a barrel swap for the first time

I also think the BCM Mod 1s are nice, I prefer them over the Mod 0s

It's a first focal plane, generally I prefer second, but on a 1-6 like this, I don't mind it.

From the question earlier, FCD is more expensive than other quality parts because the designer uses his experience to design and develop improved versions of parts where he's seen them fail over the years, or believe they could use improvement. One example is machining a mark in the cam pin so you can put it back the same way every time and reduce bolt carrier wear as putting it back in random directions wallows out the hole unevenly over time.

Also a lot of their parts are billet cut, which is more expensive to do but you can get very exact tolerances

I picked out specific lower parts but last time I got a geissele kit

For a first gun I'd probably suggest stuff like bcm or geissele. You'll develop preferences later on

I like what FCD does with upgrading/modifying parts to make them more functional but I can't justify that price right off, although after the 1st barrel is shot out I'm gonna do a full tear down and inspect every part and replace anything and everything I'm having issues with

You should also take pictures of your rifle with the serial number clearly shown and document everything about it in case you have to defensively use it. The police will steal it from the evidence room if you don't.
