Well it’s not directly related to the cost of oil. USO got really boned, and they’re in the business of facilitating oil trades or something like that. DBO is more closely related to the price of oil.

Most of the increase in value in USO when I was investing in the middle of last year I found out was almost entirely due to people buying the ETF and not so much oil trade increases. Sure thing @InfluentialGroyper
