Yeah, buy a 90s to 2000s car with one fault that makes it undriveable. If you can fix that one fault you could easily spend 1/4 the market average.

That’s what my little brother did. He got a 2005 Mustang at just under a thousand at 170k miles. I got a 2006 VW Jetta TDI for $3,200, which is still a good deal.

And buy the good oil. It’s worth it.
