I think it won't work, there is a huge amount of hoarded silver, they can flood the market with it whenever they want to preserve consistent shorting. Same thing is done with other metals and gems.

a lot of the people in the WW2 generation have been dying and having their coin collections being sold off, or from boomers liquidating it for retirement and people have not been getting into the hobby, it's actually a huge amount of influx of silver, and despite this silver is steady, so it's being hoarded. Most coins prior to 1964 were 90% silver. The coin and precious metal retailers don't want silver to go high because if silver is too high then it transcends the value of the art value of a good conditioned or rare coin and undermines business, but the thing is that these people are also the ones buying bullion and jewelry so they have plenty hoarded to collectively bring the prices down.

but just think about it, if silver goes to 100+ then 90%+ of coins that are sold are under that amount so they'd just melt inventory at that point, and it undermines their business which is technically selling a collectible, it doesn't seem like they would want it to work and they collectively have the resources to negate it. GME shorters have a lot less power to manipulate

it's moreso the retailers and the people they sell to(the melters and others) that horde
