I'm sure its overvalued right now but over time, unless they crack down with regulations (which they will), it will have an upward trajectory

the dollar will lose value over time as the year goes on, so bitcoin will steadily increase

but like I said that's not taking into account any efforts to strike it down

I prefer to ignore spikes and just look at long term trends the more volatile the asset, because you will end up making more mistakes

you have to think about when you get in and then how you get out months in advance, at which point your assumptions would already have taken effect

if you contemplate every single dip or sudden increase you will get spooked

make a plan that makes sense, think of the long term, and trust your own judgement

that's actually one of the main reasons having too much leverage tends to be a bad idea unless you are super certain something will take place

I agree, sometimes i tried to day trade or buy/sell stocks within the same week and i missed out on giant random swings

never day trade

anybody that tells you to day trade is full of shit

you can't win against the algorithms in the short term

and the whole reading patterns in graphs thing, that is also very much bullshit except in specific scenarios

if you see a massive sudden dip you will inevitably get a rebound assuming it wasn't some kind of catastrophe

and vice versa if its obviously overvalued

but other than that and some other cases, you just can't really consistently work with patterns

people that make much more money than either of us have special machine learning systems and low latency configurations that blow any kind of "pattern recognition" out of the water a million times over (in the short term)

you can only consistently make money if you make correct predictions, and guessing what will happen from a second to another is impossible

a month from now is another story
