price of silver is looking like it might jump to its highest prices since 2011

I did buy a 10oz bar for 314.99 shipped a few days ago ngl.....

ive been thinking of selling a couple bars and trading for gold

Having both is smart many will argue about what ratio of au to ag to stack but thats up for debate

although gold is at record high as well, usually you want to trade one metal for another when the price ratio is favorable

just figured out how this chart works, the lower the number, the better it is to trade silver for gold

the number represents how many ounces of silver it would take to buy one ounce of gold

so back in the middle of 2011 you could buy an ounce of gold for only 30 ounces of silver

this is a long write up i just did, sorry if u dont want to read but if this recent spike in silver prices has gotten you interested in the shiny stuff, this might be valuable to know

The gold/silver ratio is a ratio that shows you how many ounces of silver you would need to buy ONE ounce of gold. If you buy physical silver and want to play the market instead of hodl you can use the ratio to avoid ever cashing out for fiat. the idea is that you want to trade your silver for gold when the number on the left side of the graph is lower. The average ratio is 65, so on average it would take 65 ounces of silver to buy 1 ounce of gold, right now we are slightly above that 65 average, but as you can see in the chart, there are clear points historically where trading your silver for gold, or gold back to silver would have been a great play. for example, lets say you start off with 30 ounces of silver, in 2011 you could have traded those 30 ounces for 1 ounce of gold, then if you had held that one ounce of gold until march of 2020 you could have traded your 1 ounce of gold for 125 ounces of silver. you could have turned 30 ounces of silver into 125 without ever having returned it to CASH. these are the most extreme examples but if you keep in mind that the average ratio is 65, you can play this metal game over the years and grow your stack. good luck with the shiny stuff!
