I wish I could afford Barrett x.x Just watched daddy thumbs video on the newly adopted mrad
Message permalink: 709847292152250449
Had a bit of respect for them ever since they told California that they wouldn't sell to their police because technically they couldn't legally sell to criminals
Message permalink: 709847515050147850
Wish they made a wider variety of firearms.
Message permalink: 709847747150348320
They have a small and large frame ar, and a couple of bolt actions i think. Their mrad has interchangeable bolts and barrels though, so you can swap out what you want and re zero
Message permalink: 709847978638311506
I guess I'd rather see a handful of top tier guns than a bunch of mediocre ones with slight differences
Message permalink: 709848180258242570
I had difficulty finding their AR parts for a build.
Message permalink: 709848340598358099
I think they only sell pre built ar's but i could be wrong
Message permalink: 709848646467977289
Judging by their reputation with other guns, and the hefty pricetag on their di and piston ar's, it sounds like they're pretty high quality. I haven't read about them though
Message permalink: 709848878148485250
Hah apparently the r in rec7 stands for reliability. I just want one of their bolt guns though
Message permalink: 709849297385947188
If you don't mind getting a Destructive Device license. There's the Anzio Ironworks 20mm anti-material rifle. Makes .50BMG look small.
Message permalink: 709851194192953445
Well... decided to take a look at the Rec7 just because... It's 2500 for the standard black Cerkote Carbine...
Message permalink: 709851376481599538
And for some reason, the lightweight version is 2200... it's cheaper?
Message permalink: 709851454218960979
Don't know why, granted the rec7 is piston driven so it's more expensive than the rec7 di, which will be even lighter than those two
Message permalink: 709855247522201691
Ah okay they only have the piston and di versions. The di is lighter, but also less expensive because it's not a piston gun
Message permalink: 709855977960112235
Yeah, but Piston is supposed to be even more reliable, right?
Message permalink: 709857472307003423
Supposedly yeah. It keeps gunk out of the receiver but it builds up in the gas block instead. I could be wrong but I think a lot of them blow gunk out of the gas block so while it's a pain to clean, it still functions
Message permalink: 709862699655364772
Go figure, ive got extra money right now... Looking at helmets.. Any tips, or finger points in the right direction are appreciated.
Message permalink: 709866610638192701
Unless you're taking classes that require a ballistic helmet for whatever reason, your best bet is a good quality bump helmet like team wendy, if you need to mount nods. If you don't need to mount nods or protect your head from bumping into shit due to your environment, no helmet
Message permalink: 709872260231462943
What kind of helmet would you recommend for posing in front of the mirror?
Message permalink: 709873090645065889
Definitely either team wendy or crye, both look pretty cool
Message permalink: 709873245448437810
Snazzy
Message permalink: 709873572570595340
Jokes aside I've got a team wendy bump helmet and its saved me from countless concussions. Very comfortable, well fitting, and protective.
Message permalink: 709873819459780679
Damn, 400-2500 for team wendy shit on ebay..
Message permalink: 709873990897762314
Back to banadanas, and boonie hats it is
Message permalink: 709874231898538096
Their story is pretty cool too, a bit sad. Tldr the owner founded the company after his daughter died of traumatic brain injury from a skiing accident. He decided to make the best helmets possible after that.

What's up with the different finishes on BCGs? What do different ones like phosphate, parkerized, and NiB do?
Message permalink: 709878292236337153
It's differing amounts of finish toughness. Gimme a sec, it's a google search away
Message permalink: 709878792717598770
I ask because I'm looking for less copy paste knowledge and more practical experience with them
Message permalink: 709879395967303759
Phosphate is tough and cost efficient. But harder to clean and requires more lube. Black Nitride is basically better in every way but more expensive. Nickle Boron is the best, also more expensive, and also shiny
Message permalink: 709879407598239754
My personal favorite is Black Nitride, it's tough, doesn't require as much lube as Phosphate, and doesn't have the shine of the Nickle Boron, which can give your position away better.
Message permalink: 709879707046379582
There are more kinds out there too, but those are the most common.
Message permalink: 709880839772831826
Okay, thanks
Message permalink: 709882228334919792
@Crye Salesman I don’t remember at the moment the exact reasons but I was told by some SOTAR guys that NiB was discovered to be shite, do you know the reasoning?
Message permalink: 709883423426084905
Is making the change to a free float handguard vs delta ring worth a hundred bucks?
Message permalink: 709889180133490759
LITERALLY a night and day difference
Message permalink: 709890956802916393
It helps that much with accuracy?
Message permalink: 709892394371514389
@[LA] Zoomer Medi/k/ NiB doesn’t retain lubricant like phosphate does, your rifle will shed lube much faster
Message permalink: 709893459615416372
And the slick carrier won’t actually run any better so, it’s actually less reliable over time
Message permalink: 709893597830447125
I just use nitride because it seems to be durable and very common
Message permalink: 709906204062777436
Oh you forgot the best one. TiN bcg's force everyone to drop what they're doing and admire your flex even though it costs about the same
Message permalink: 709906718469128222
Nothing says flex like spending 2-3 times the price for parts because they're from a brand that literally no one but airsofters have heard of.
Message permalink: 709908015209381988
Honestly forgot salient arms exists
Message permalink: 709908034666758174
Im gonna grab the LMT enhanced whenever I find one in stock
Message permalink: 709910581477638195
@EDDSkitz you use peltors with your kit?
Message permalink: 709917827922133073
Yeah, comtac III's
Message permalink: 709917869873430528

Message permalink: 709917989465489459
JCI Comms on Facebook
Message permalink: 709918026610245682
I’ve got the dual comms
Message permalink: 709918029395525693
But I was planning on putting one 2 pin and one 3 pin
Message permalink: 709918089395044442
6 pin*
Message permalink: 709918137495060501
Yeah
Message permalink: 709918226586533949
I almost did duals
Message permalink: 709918267518484530
I've been thinking of switching to the Opscore AMPs but damn are they expensive
Message permalink: 709918434187542528
Are they better?
Message permalink: 709918519231381566
I found mine salty for 315
Message permalink: 709918549224849509
I bought new
Message permalink: 709918582850715649
Yeah the amps are way better, but like 1400
Message permalink: 709918653449109575
Holy shit
Message permalink: 709918759128662136
Super Gucci operator shit though
Message permalink: 709919407471853598
The way they attach to the helmet is dope though
Message permalink: 709919542154887220
I don’t even have a helmet
Message permalink: 709919955633569823
Idek if I will until I build a “stationary” loadout
Message permalink: 709920032301514783
So I'm currently looking for companies that make quality AR's comparable to SOLGW in the price range of $1,000 to $1,800 (5.56 nato and preferably in stock)
Message permalink: 709921963237179403
Any suggestions? I was told sionics and BCM make quality rifles im just looking for more opinions

Message permalink: 709923467780423770
Lemme check prices, 1800 gets you a lot
Message permalink: 709923551049810020
You want that to include optic?
Message permalink: 709923576547115028
Help me out here guys. When did pouring synthetic motor oil and grease on your bcg become a thing, or did everyone but me know about it until two days ago?
Message permalink: 709924236294095061
Optics aren't a big deal for me right now, I'll get one down the road when I'm 100% comfortable with the platform and realistically don't need it
Message permalink: 709924373720596581
@normallydrunk it’s been a thing cheap people have done for awhile but it works well
Message permalink: 709924626108514314
I gotcha. Just got verbally face fucked for saying I've always just used remoil and that I should have been dunking my shit on Mobil 1 all these years. If remoil sucks, I'm completely open to recommendations for a better gun lube if y'all have any.
Message permalink: 709925119211995157
Remoil works but you need it every time
Message permalink: 709925285616681050
It evaporates
Message permalink: 709925301785985046
Grease is best in my opinion
Message permalink: 709925343884083270
Ok, thanks for being clear. That makes sense. What grease do you recommend?
Message permalink: 709925539560816732
Cherry balmz
Message permalink: 709925855362678825
Awesome. I'll pick some up and try it out and see how I like it. I appreciate the help.
Message permalink: 709926167423221790

Message permalink: 709929615908667442
?
Message permalink: 709929813158264863
There’s nothing wrong with .223 wylde
Message permalink: 709929903252045856
You realize 223 wylde just means you can run .223 or 5.56 right?
Message permalink: 709931182132953099
That's all inuse in my rifles
Message permalink: 709931232154353714
*I use
Message permalink: 709931261606494289
223 wylde is one of the better options as opposed to favoring one or the other
Message permalink: 709931457816035439
Yup
Message permalink: 709931509557100645
Sorry excuse my ignorance, frankly I'm not familiar with it at all.
Message permalink: 709931521464729611
I only buy 5.56, but to be able to run whatever if shit went down is a bonus
Message permalink: 709931608127569980
All good, many think it's a special round
Message permalink: 709931687123091507
But after briefly reading up on it yeah its actually the better route for versatility
Message permalink: 709931695016640542
For a battle rifle it's the only way to go IMO
Message permalink: 709932050941214731
Now if you're building a specialty gun of some sort there are benefits to running a specific chamber
Message permalink: 709932191953715221
I personally just don't build guns not for war.. maybe someday I'll start collecting
Message permalink: 709932353891467364
I just want a rock solid "multi purpose" are hahaha nothing crazy special
Message permalink: 709932855840604181
AR*
Message permalink: 709932883749502987
Some good guns in that price range are geissele, bcm, faxon, and midwest industries. Really 1800 will get you a hell of a lot of gun
