From my understanding, don't get me wrong a hole is a hole, but they don't fragment as well as fmj or hollow, so they're less lethal, but they penatrate better So I gathered its better to shoot at things than at people in a defensive manor

If you wanted to wear any armor in the summer, I'd say you'd probably want lighter weight ceramic armor with something like an armorvent slapped on your pc. Also yeah pc's are near the bottom of the list on priority

Carry pistol with a quality concealed kydex holster, ammo and training, medical stuff, a rifle, other general survival things like food and bleach for purifying water, maybe a chest rig for higher level training, then after all of that and probably some other stuff, armor

When determining what equipment you need, you've gotta figure out what the most likely scenarios are. Before all of that, you should really have a fire extinguisher in your house, since in the end it sorta serves the same purpose as any other equipment, keeping you alive and your property protected.
