So back to the fact that it's purely due to poor assembly rather than poor quality materials, correct?
Message permalink: 707683502262452284
Bad quality control.

Sure, mil-spec is mil-spec, but how well do companies maintain that standard?
Message permalink: 707686282255663135
For PSA and BCA, they don’t do it nearly as well.
Message permalink: 707686323523420230
You’re not paying for a name.
Message permalink: 707686345727934492
You’re paying for better, tighter tolerances.

Things like checking every single part instead of batch checking (checking one of every batch)
Message permalink: 707686610614878218
Deburring the milling heads on the machines to keep them more precise.
Message permalink: 707686681054019635
All of that plays a factor.
Message permalink: 707686776084365432
AIM BCGs worth a damn?
Message permalink: 707687594875682854
But what about using just stripped PSA parts abd using Higher end internals, like we used to do with sleeper drag cars?
Message permalink: 707687602840535061
I would not do that.
Message permalink: 707687788765642752
Again, even lower receivers can have specification problems.

I'm sure a PSA barrel would be perfectly fine, as they are hard steel blanks that they finish out.

Not the exact same BCG, I imagine mostly the same. https://aimsurplus.com/aim-ar15-m16-h4x-223-5-56-9310-mpi-bolt-carrier-group/?mc_cid=a7038981c5&mc_eid=d3687e4469

Dont know trying to decide. Reading up right now, probably looking to drop at most around 1k basic.
Message permalink: 707688612455645194
Colt is a good brand

> Dont know trying to decide. Reading up right now, probably looking to drop at most around 1k basic. @[NC]sampson @Lucky Texan
Message permalink: 707688928018432033
For that price @[NC]sampson unless you're really intent on building one yourself, from my experience an M&P15 would probably fit. Might not be "battle ready" but you'll be able to learn the rifle and modify what you need to modify and swap weak points etc etc.
Message permalink: 707688972993822770
Well i owned an M&P and i hated it, bought my mossberg for that reason and have been happy since, but im strictly building one this time
Message permalink: 707689277986963549
@Soulraiser You can build a good rifle for $1,000.
Message permalink: 707689337680167042
Also I saw spartan armor, anyone have any suggestions?
Message permalink: 707689379509960735
M&P is good to go in my experience, my sport 2 beater is going on 6k of sterl
Message permalink: 707689388837961778
Steel
Message permalink: 707689395138068500
Hence why I said unless you're intent on building one.

@LoudPillsmy M&P constantly had problems. But then again you can always get an lemon.
Message permalink: 707689661413457950
I also have experience with holosun on my sport 2, also really good for the price.
Message permalink: 707689665477607514
@[NC]sampson mine hasnt gave me a single issue and ive wrecked my atv with it strapped to the front 3 times.
Message permalink: 707689798705610873
As he said, lemons are possible.
Message permalink: 707689871506014299
But for 500$ you cant expect great qc
Message permalink: 707689907769835551
Especially considering one could be made right before they deburred a bit, and one right after.
Message permalink: 707689944067342402
Yeah, had to be a lemon. lol That yankee hill barrel actually worth a damn? The price was kinda throwing me for a loop with what it came with. I'm currently looking at an aero 16" barrel.
Message permalink: 707690239136628848
aero's barrels, I think made by a sister company ballistic advantage, are okay. They'll get around 1.5-2 moa if I remember right, which compared to any other rifle from the era of the m16 is actually fantastic.
Message permalink: 707690534327812188
Any clue how much the 20in one is, i have a 16 on my mossberg?
Message permalink: 707690582579085352
Would I be wasting my money to put a BCM lower parts kit in an ar-15?
Message permalink: 707690628812767343
lower parts kits are all basically the same outside of triggers. Which can vary greatly. I'm just using a basic ass anderson parts kit and swapping the grip because it feels like holding a cactus. I don't intend on doing any crazy long range shooting to where that slight accuracy is going to make a difference. Especially if it's in a SHTF situation.

Especially if it's in a SHTF situation. @Soulraiser There are inherent differences between the quality control and trigger weight of lower parts. Most do contain the same springs and are supposed to be made to the same spec, but that does not mean that al are help to the same scrutiny.
Message permalink: 707691840274432040
Oh you said BCM not BCA... lmao
Message permalink: 707691853712982068
personally got the geissele ultra lower parts kit for the flex, though the maritime bolt catch is awesome, won't be going back to milspec
Message permalink: 707691895068950589
while I'd say it's hard to fuck up stuff like detents and springs, some companies manage to. I've read dozens of reviews on lower parts kits on brownells and whatnot where people got rusted out detent springs and other useless junk in their kits
Message permalink: 707692283281276979
I can see that. I figure, on your first one at bare minimum, you're going to lose a spring anyways. Might as well be a cheap one. As long as it isn't rusted out.. Idk how that even happens in that situation.

Message permalink: 707692988662546473
Sionics, G$ or colt hand select are what I use for LPK’s. BCM is a good choice too
Message permalink: 707697584038477915
I didn't realize BCM still had stock. Putting together a parts list on there right now.

Idk if this is a doable since I've never read the punisher but it might be cool to spray something that only real fans would know in order to set yourself apart from every other loser who uses the symbol without actually knowing anything about it
