You might be able to pick up a few totally legal 10 round 458 socom pmags
Message permalink: 709090333664739400
I bought a few 30pmags that are converted to 10 round (makes them California legal) 1 rivet is all it takes to make it legal
Message permalink: 709091160425103390
A uhaul might also be good if possible

Happens every 2-3 rounds.
Message permalink: 709092243402784869
Ah light strikes
Message permalink: 709092292274815036
I’m guessing trigger
Message permalink: 709092317646290985
I tested 3 BCGs
Message permalink: 709092351934595153
Yeah make sure your hammer spring isn't backward, that's the number one cause, and surprisingly easy to mess up.
Message permalink: 709092422725926963
I bought the rifle off armslist. It was a safe queen and the dude installed an aftermarket trigger.
Message permalink: 709092568776048650
I’ll take a look at it.
Message permalink: 709092593316921354
If it's not a backward hammer spring, then it may be a weaker hammer spring to make the trigger pull lighter.
Message permalink: 709092875140333589
Shit was annoying cause I was going to put 1200 rounds through yesterday.

@[CA] SoyBoi 62 gr soft points preferably barrier blind
Message permalink: 709096394442539038
Do you know what brand the trigger is?
Message permalink: 709096435957629041
Also green tip is trash, doesn't fragment due to the steel tip. The article will list barrier blind and non barrier blind loads that are tested and good to go.
Message permalink: 709096686831665233
Green tip is actually awful
Message permalink: 709096857334448128
Idk why people like it so much
Message permalink: 709096883683065948
They like it because the military used it. Unfortunately that's like saying you clean your floor with a toothbrush because someone did it in boot camp.
Message permalink: 709097080525684786
M855 equals good 249 ammo and that’s pretty much it
Message permalink: 709097351129727087
Also missed your link but that link is dead on
Message permalink: 709097399112564827
Isn't green tip better id you wanna go through soft materials and prevent fragmentation
Message permalink: 709097595888336978
Fragmentation is where 5.56 gets its stopping power
Message permalink: 709097748917649418
Slightly better than green tip
Message permalink: 709098004313014402
Yes in those barrels it’s good
Message permalink: 709098075188363296
I’ve seen people suggest running it in their 10.5 and it’s effective up to like 80 yards or something
Message permalink: 709098176321290271
Typically it's best to run heavier stuff because it has more mass to fragment and they're longer, leading to a better ballistic coefficient and longer effective range. Though for home defense the latter part isn't really an issue
Message permalink: 709099058375163958
Honestly for home defense, you may want a non barrier blind load as it'll be less likely to put holes in your neighbor's house

Any of yall have tips for carrying an extra rifle on ya but have a large backpaxk on?
Message permalink: 709100361968779376
Like concealed or just normal carry?
Message permalink: 709100642198880307
Normal
Message permalink: 709100689476812800
My issue is having a rifle in hand, and a large backpack, so trying to carry the extra rifle
Message permalink: 709100801368260688
Also assume wearing plates and pouches
Message permalink: 709100877520044133
I guess a two point sling with a quick adjuster like the blueforce gear sling. Keep it at the tight setting while slung at your chest, then grab the handle and yank it out when you need to shoulder it
Message permalink: 709100958109401088
I won't need quick access to it, ill look into it, I have a sling coming in that might work for it
Message permalink: 709101133196558388
Some backpacks are made to carry a rifle straight up and down on the side of it, but I don't really do anything where I would have my rifle stowed somewhere I can't quickly access

@Confused ALG Defense ACT
Message permalink: 709101931087265852
Could it be the buffer?
Message permalink: 709101950590910487
Huh that's a good budget trigger, shouldn't give you problems. Sometimes it can be a light buffer but it's almost always something else
Message permalink: 709102146783674430
That doesn't look like an ALG hammer spring though
Message permalink: 709102412941492345
ALG hammer springs are either dark gray steel or purple for the reduced power ones
Message permalink: 709102557007446076
It might not be. It was a BCM I bought about 2 months ago for 850.
Message permalink: 709103882621681804
The description said it has an ALG trigger.

Areo precision, decent equipment? I have an opportunity to be a dealer for them
Message permalink: 709112344143462431
Aero is good
Message permalink: 709118344166637677
I’ve got the Aero 10 and a Yeet canon stripper lower.
Message permalink: 709121437675421747
Good quality? In spec so to speak? No blemishes etc
Message permalink: 709121555229048902
No blemishes. I haven’t done any measurements or anything. I’m gonna take it to my FFL down the street who’s a gunsmith. Have him look at it before i do anything with it.
Message permalink: 709123348071710891
Aero apparently is the best budget option available on the market. The Aero 10 is amazing.
Message permalink: 709123510471098402
I got a PSA upper months ago to stick on my binary lower. That shit some blemishes. One of them was marked off by a sharpie. 😂😂😂
Message permalink: 709123851694374964
Aero is kinda like if psa was serviceable. The best bang for your buck, and respected by the community. Apparently thunder ranch even has a class where you build an aero ar and take the class with it.
Message permalink: 709125720634556416
Their M5 series is what people use almost exclusively for ar10 builds these days. You'll see people in competition running aero precision 308 receivers with stupid expensive barrels like compass lake engineering
Message permalink: 709126176232177774
Good to know, I'm gonna work on developing that relationship with Aero
Message permalink: 709126319060942848
Thanks guys
Message permalink: 709126337109033026
They're also about to come out with an affordable ar9 with last round bolt hold open
Message permalink: 709126778261733407
Good!
Message permalink: 709126900282294272
PDWs are very popular
Message permalink: 709126960084680824
aero is a good balance of cheap and actually to spec, so it will sell easily and you won’t be fucking people buy selling them bad stuff
Message permalink: 709128626343379005
@Confused I don’t know anything about that optic in particular, but at least cortex is a reputable company
Message permalink: 709128711953186896
@Crye Salesman my main concern, I wanted entry level.with reliability
Message permalink: 709128759332175973
Aero is a great place to start. Actually I think I have an idea for you. Have a package deal with aero parts and a short class on how to build an ar
Message permalink: 709129114593788034
Personally, if I was going to sell parts like that, I’d do my own QC too
Message permalink: 709129234412732436
We are too small to offer classes now, however was my goal to start something like that in the next 36 months
Message permalink: 709129257099722753
Yeah i was considering BCM part kits for building
Message permalink: 709129729961099357
You *might* get a better deal from colt or Sionics as a distributor, but I don’t know
Message permalink: 709129838774059018
I'm linked into 15+ Distributors, just trying to get it all online.
Message permalink: 709129946781712485
Haven't gotten around to watching yet but TFB did a collaboration with thunder ranch and aero precision. https://youtu.be/dv59ftIw3lY
Message permalink: 709129971926564934
Friday and Saturday, i was emailing and applying With all of them
Message permalink: 709130065077731469
Very highly regarded firearms school
Message permalink: 709130068810530867
👍 👍
Message permalink: 709130121168027678
Colt's reputation has kinda gone down the drain
Message permalink: 709130156999966842
Over priced bare bones
Message permalink: 709130252294553662
Just buy a BCM at that point
Message permalink: 709130281969516614
Their LPK’s are still correct, that’s what we were talking about
Message permalink: 709130333907583048
@Confused >TFB. 😒
Message permalink: 709130407068565636
It's on my computer at home so i don't have it with me but i had a meme that said something along the lines of Psa is just as good as colt, so buy a solgw instead
Message permalink: 709130568498937977
Tfb is okay. They can be a bit clickbaity but usually on dual articles or videos like "why the ak is better than the ar / why the ar is better than the ak" Not my first source but they're well produced
Message permalink: 709130940747874347
Been playing around with the eclips on my PVS14 it’s bad ass
Message permalink: 709130976692928663
Yeah those are awesome
Message permalink: 709131385021136896
Kinda weird how it seems the best articles are written by random dudes on forums. No big website, just some scientist's post about ballistics and whatnot
Message permalink: 709131886584266765
You talking about DocGKR?
Message permalink: 709133275247018014
Well they're one but not them specifically
Message permalink: 709145253377999008
Whomstdve
Message permalink: 709153208479776932
Just curious
Message permalink: 709153218067824674
Just provided some kid a year of clean drinking water by purchasing a 3 pack of life straws.. been reading up on these for the past few hours. Decided they are a good thing to have. Anyone have any experience with them?
Message permalink: 709155343917252619
I remember when they were designed and featured in popular science. Haven't heard anything bad about them
Message permalink: 709162819836313639
Does anyone have experience in the AR platform while being cross eye dominant? I’m right handed all the way but left eye dominant. I’ve grown up shooting right handed weapons with my left hand no problem. I got my first AR about 8 years ago but I’ve only ever done the basic target shooting but I would like to take some carbine courses and get my skills up. I’m looking for suggestions on ambi controls and techniques on running right handed ARs as a lefty in a tactical sense. I need to get better all around but particularly in speeding up my manipulation of the weapon and transitioning between targets.
Message permalink: 709163819091493006
I'm right handed and left eye dominant. I just run a red dot or a scope and put the dot/ crosshair on the target with both eyes open and it works fine
Message permalink: 709164477161013310
It really doesn't affect anything, just train through it and make sure your bullets go where you want
Message permalink: 709164922977648709
Right on, I’ve always felt strange/slightly uncomfortable with both eyes open through a scope. I have switched to a red dot recently and I’m getting comfortable with both eyes open left handed. I guess I may need to just work it right handed and get used to it that way
Message permalink: 709165646726037574
I’d rather not run lefty if I can avoid it, although it should help me when going off handed
Message permalink: 709165907515277384
@Confused how tf do you do that
Message permalink: 709181319644708884
I'm cross dominate too, but I can't do that, I have to have one eye squinted to get it to focus on my right eye
Message permalink: 709181458471845968
I'm gonna practice both handed, but wish I could switch eyes lol
