Mora knives are great. On some no name junk Tang matters. But not in Mora's case. I highly recommend. You can also get stainless. But I don't mind oiling.

If you've got the budget for it check out titanium dive knives, completely corrosion resistant and hold an edge decently well

@Abe Clark mora is good, especially for the price. I’ve used them on hunting trips, and my dad has used them as bushcrafting knives. Not an ESEE, but a well built knife

I've been reading about parts some more. I recently discovered a smallish one called Hodge Defense, which apparently makes some of the best stuff that you can never have because they make batches of like 3 receivers.

The various parts are made by different companies to Hodge's specs, so there's somewhat similar stuff out there, but getting a receiver set is almost impossible

I'm waiting around for memorial day since it seems like a perfect time to drop receivers. Not gonna wait forever though, so I may go with zev forged receivers since they hold similar tolerances but have a slightly different design. The barrels seem much easier to get ahold of.

I've used tru spec before for beater stuff. I hate their website and the quality is pretty low, but it's cheap and protects your well enough from thorns and other stuff.

I've put mine through some hard use and its held up well enough, no tears but some stitching has unraveled a little. If I did more stuff in it, I'd get something better because it probably wouldn't hold up.
