Work in TDCJ, most people I know at least have family in TDCJ working. know lots of COs. Cops deal with dumbasses one or twice then move on to the next one. COs deal with the same mofo several times a week.

I ordered a 12.5 hodge barrel from them with their memorial day discount. Sort of a long term project

I'd like to get a receiver set but it's sounding like it'll be nigh impossible

Gonna collect the rest of the parts when I can and keep the receivers on the back burner in case I get an email saying they're back in stock

Does anyone have a good reccomendation for a 20inch 223 wylde barrel, preferably in a heavy profile

not uncommon for a cle krieger to shoot sub 1/4 moa with the right handloads

supposedly the cle chamber is even better than wylde, but I haven't seen evidence. They just claim it shrinks groups even more

What's the gas block area option they offer, flats for A2 or spot for optics? Never seen that before, then again I've not delt with a lot of parts that aren't generic factory parts

There's a variety of brands that are still extremely good, though maybe not to the absurd quality of cle. Krieger, Douglass, criterion, white oak armament, bartlein

CLE takes blanks from a few of these companies, machines them, attaches a barrel extension, and so on, so they're a bit more expensive

I was eyeing a Brownells 20 inch fluted DMR barrel but their supplier for them seems to only be known for making 6.5 grendel barrels

Faxon also makes good stuff, typically sub moa

Faxon tends to be the best bang for your buck, semi budget barrel

Between a 5.56 NATO barrel with a 1:8 twist and a 223 Wylde with a 1:8 would there be any noticible difference in performance with 77gr open tip match ammo

All my rifles that shoot 223/556 are stamped on the barrel with 5.56 even if the reciever says 223

Which the rumour is our government is hesitant to allow rifles with 556 stamped on the reciever to be non restricted. All the Tavors I have handled say 223 on the reciever but have 556 on the barrel

Hell my HK SL8-4 has 223 rem on the reciever but 556 on the barrel also lol

5.56 and 223 have different sized chamberings. The 223 chamber has a shorter distance before it engages rifling, and when you fire the higher pressured 5.56 through it, it can create dangerous pressure spikes. On the other hand, firing 223 out of a 5.56 chamber, which it's not designed for, means that the round has to travel further before engaging rifling, it causes diminished accuracy. The point of a 223 wylde chamber is that it's somewhere between these two chambers, being long enough not to cause pressure issues with 5.56, but short enough to still be accurate when shooting the cheaper 223 cartridges.

IWI says the Tavor is designed for 556 and they just stamp 223 on the reciever to make it easier to export

It's not so much that 223 wylde improves accuracy, but firing 223 through a 556 chambering reduces accuracy

I just wanna know why so many competition barrels are made in 223 wylde

Many people who do competition go through tons of ammo, and 223 is cheaper than 5.56, so it adds up after a few thousand rounds

So it's just cheapening practice for them

I didn't want to clutter it. It's more directed towards people who think they're gonna kit out all the time, and certainly doesn't have everything I carry, or what someone else should carry. In facebook, I had a more detailed post about how mission drives gear, this is first line, and most people's mission is to get home alive.

I think that is something good for now, people don't have FLIR stuff and don't want to stick out with hawaiian

Second line would be PC and rifle + other stuff

To be fair, that is significantly less stuff than my everyday carry, but I’m very on board with the plainclothes offensive pistol man

It's pretty much my edc minus wallet, phone, keys, knife, trauma shears, pen, and occasionally some other stuff

My view on the whole grey man versus tactical argument is both are valid things but only function in certain settings. If I knew i was walking into a potential fight I'd go tactical. If I'm just trying to get from A to B and not expecting a fight and not wanting to draw attention while doing it then its grey man

And in SHTF people look for soft targets and is you look like any old joe you will get attacked even if in a small group. Now take that same small group but deck them out in full kit and rifles they would have a lesser chance of being attacked by opportunistic criminals or raiders

mission drives gear after all. Most of the time, tactical stuff puts you in more danger, but if you know you're probably going to be shot at on sight anyway, then kitting up is a good plan

Noticed it when attending rallies in full kit. The counter protesters would be acting violent and attacking people unlit 5 or 6 guys in kit square off with them then the get all pacifist and non violent meanwhile 5 minutes before they were striking people and throwing shit
