> Eventually on any extreme you'll find people more willing to take their chances and fight @Remnant That’s not the point. Exposing your capabilities makes you less lethal.
Message permalink: 714251506857279519
True, being unexpected is important
Message permalink: 714251706288046130
Although that is also saying water is wet
Message permalink: 714251778279079946
Depending on the scenario, exposing your capabilities makes you a target. If you're out on recon, or grabbing milk at the store, you don't want to stand out. If you're making a show of force with 30 others, then throwing your second line gear on top and standing out will make you more effective.

“The more you project about your intentions or capabilities, the more you present them with the ultimatum of taking you down decisively in ambush or facing loss themselves. What if your overt projections of strength deterred 10 low-level fights that you could have probably won, only to give the advantage to the one high-level attacker that takes you down for good?” - That book ^

Except it’s about shooting people directly in the back of the head
Message permalink: 714256763947581514
Yup. That’s what he’s trying to say. If you look tough, they won’t give you a chance to fight back. The police apply the same thought process

A couple of people on fb are going "so look like an oFf DuTy CoP" so I'm making one specially for them
Message permalink: 714257426722979911
because apparently only off duty cops wear polo shirts
Message permalink: 714257460822671371
Vertex polos are kinda on that line, depending on your AO. construction company hoodies or similar are what I like to rock.
Message permalink: 714257680105209857
I just happen to work in an office for a more industrial company so I have to wear a polo

So I already have a reloading press for .308 and I'm considering reloading for 5.56 at this point consider how little I use .308. Is it worth it
Message permalink: 714264898288353303
Might as well
Message permalink: 714264952973688934
At least just to have the knowledge and tools/supplies on hand just in case
Message permalink: 714265106187288616
There we go, all done
Message permalink: 714265992733261829
Yeah I need to get away from reloading .308, not super comfortable out of a semi automatic platform
Message permalink: 714268397453574244
Might as well have the supplies. Doesn’t mean you can only shoot reloads
Message permalink: 714269278643290152
Yep, reloading stuff might be hard to find right now though
Message permalink: 714269387061985390
Let’s see it @Confused

That would make a decent bump helmet
Message permalink: 714282789452906566
Definitely @Remnant, especially for Match/defensive ammo
Message permalink: 714285514496409661
New World Order Riot Control Force helmet right there
Message permalink: 714285596948037643
Just keep in mind, it isn’t really ballistic *if you know what I’m sayin* @Cannibal1-1
Message permalink: 714301751754358856
It's not even rated as a bump helmet and the lenses aren't ANSI rated either... total larp gear. Cool, but china garbage
Message permalink: 714302068688420864
Oh I just meant *penetration*
Message permalink: 714302770311594136
It's literally an airsoft larp helmet, it was a big hullabaloo in the AS world a few months back when the manufacturers tried to claim all sorts of specs.
Message permalink: 714303059299139715
I know I almost bought one lmao
Message permalink: 714303415013867610
It does look cool though

Saw it on tacticool memes page. They tend to share some really reasonable stuff when it comes to best practices, also making fun of people who do things like small of the back carry a rock arms 1911 without one in the pipe in an uncle Mike's holster
Message permalink: 714529829101240441
That was painful to read
Message permalink: 714537953816477878
I like my ACOG
Message permalink: 714538332771713032
They're really simple and there's nothing wrong with that. You don't have to worry about fiddling with anything. Only real issue is the eye relief.
Message permalink: 714539833464324126
^ yea. Still can’t believe trijicon hasn’t made there accupoints with any of the ACOG reticles
Message permalink: 714548218662355055
A lot of the acog reticles are better suited for fixed power or 0 power optics
Message permalink: 714549349660491777
The Anderson finally died, firing pin retention pin broke and the firing pin dislodged and the bolt is now stuck forward
Message permalink: 714551556543873086
You can pull the barrel offand get the BCG out the front
Message permalink: 714552295127253012
I got it out but that's just the assement of how it finally malfunctioned/killed itself
Message permalink: 714552499046055966
Ah
Message permalink: 714552592008609824
Anderson lowers are fine, uppers too for that matter... it's the internals I always hear issues with
Message permalink: 714552855142334486
Which one of you has the slideshow of Anderson failures? Add this fellow haha
Message permalink: 714553247016157255
The only parts I've had issues with consistantly are the take down pins and the extensions on the upper they go through, always wobbly even though I damn near have to hammer them in
Message permalink: 714553253303681074
That's the pins more than likely
Message permalink: 714553478088753192
It was @Confused, what a champ
Message permalink: 714553653247082516
The pins are to spec, and the pin holes are too, I think the extensions off the upper are a tiny bit too narrow
Message permalink: 714553692786786384
Yeah that took me forever to make lol
Message permalink: 714553711560753254
Basically scoured the ar15 forums
Message permalink: 714553762311831572
Because of the materials used in the upper and lower, structural integrity is probably okay but the tolerances are so bad, and stack on top of each other, that they can cause issues which lead to catastrophic failure
Message permalink: 714554152902197320
mine also has a rifle buffer crammed into a carbine length buffertube
Message permalink: 714554563402792970
Is there a reason for that or....
Message permalink: 714554786749349911
I don't know, it just does
Message permalink: 714554923299242106
Wh....what the fuck
Message permalink: 714554937660407838
B-but why
Message permalink: 714555001116164147
It is a fixed stock so maybe some moron though all fixed stocks tool the same buffers
Message permalink: 714555092996587571
They may have been an after market mod/fuck up but as far as I know everything except the gas block is factory
Message permalink: 714555811971727428
I’m not calling you a liar, but I’m pretty sure you can’t cycle a gun with a rifle buffer in a carbine tube
Message permalink: 714560380268970046
Anyone have any experience with the romeo 1 reflex mounted on a sig p320? Thinking about buying one for my p320-m18.
Message permalink: 714560436342882381
I’ve got like, 100 rounds on one that was on a 229. I would get a more proven optic personally, I think even the newer holosuns have a better track record
Message permalink: 714560684213665892
Ill be real with you, I dont know shit about optics when it comes to sidearms lol. I've always rolled with irons. I would just need to buy a mounting plate right? (If I went with another brand)
Message permalink: 714563918760247316
Depends how your slide is cut
Message permalink: 714565324963577918
It's looking like its basically impossible to get ahold of a Hodge receiver set. People out there have tried for years, even calling in before a shipment drops, and still can't get them. So I'm looking at a few other brands for receivers, the goal being a fuck you rifle build. (likely gonna give my 11.5 to my fiance to learn with since it's relatively light and small, and very smooth shooting.) So for receiver sets at the moment, I've been looking at forged, and two on the list are Zev and Noveske. Neither of which I have experience with but Zev makes Hodge receivers to their spec and seem to be known for tolerances so tight that it'll hold a barreled upper without pins. Noveske is Noveske, already known for quality. Can't really get stripped KAC uppers and I have my own barrel to use.
Message permalink: 714565483667652688
Could do billet as well but I'm still researching the pros/cons of that.
Message permalink: 714566082282651750
It's either a rifle buffer or it's a very long and distended carbine buffer, I'm leaning towards rifle since the gun is a stiff bitch to charge and recoils, differently
Message permalink: 714569888835960834
Hmmm. Pics? Or measure it
Message permalink: 714570680682938398
@Confused Gen III noveskes are some of my favorite rifles/receivers.
Message permalink: 714570867568410624
Although it should be noted GenIII Noveskes are SMOS receivers, and Gen4 are Q.

Same listed tolerance of critical parts as the hodge receiver
Message permalink: 714571411137757194
then the video shows differences between the noveske and zev forged receiver sets
Message permalink: 714571464975581206
Zev is a bit cheaper than the noveske too innit
Message permalink: 714571877619728386
They're cheaper but appear to have tighter tolerances, or oversized components
Message permalink: 714572295103971358
something the hodge receivers are known for as well

idk outside of bench competitions, guns are tools to me. Granted having really nice tools is super cool
Message permalink: 714574048931217530
There's also meme guns and flexin guns, don't forget about those

I shall purposefully and aggressively forget about those.

How well do the gen 3 billet uppers fit together?
Message permalink: 714575756725846027
If I'm paying that much, I don't really want any wobble. Otherwise, my only concern is if it'll fit whichever handguard I choose.
Message permalink: 714575917099253992
Looking at the hodge / zev wedge lock rail. Seems to have an even more solid lockup than geissele
