What is it being used for? That will help give a better idea. It really depends on the mission.

Well it depends on if you want to build a AR15 or AR10

For starters

Depends on your locality and skill

There more than just AR

And locality is one element

I’ve got the skill for either rifle

I’m looking at about the same distances

I’m more thinking of weight

And barrier ability

Ease of ammo

Cost of ammo

Reliability of the platform

500 and in though I’d still go with 308. Only because that’s going to be common in my area and if it came down to scavenger mode then I’d find that before 6.5

6.5 grendel is useful Bc it’s way lighter, and reliable in an AR platform while having usually double the energy of 5.56 at similar ranges

And I can load mags up with wolf and be able to use it as a battle rifle too

I’d just hate to have anyone closer than 200 yards if I’ve got a bolt action
