Well that’s why you have the bcm
Message permalink: 712003380804976672
If I do that I’ll prob have to carry a backup .300 black or 5.56
Message permalink: 712003421871276192
Yeah but I can’t carry 2 rifles at all times
Message permalink: 712003458567241810
Maybe an smg sized carbine or pistol
Message permalink: 712003514066403418
Like honey badger sized
Message permalink: 712003549353214045
Honestly don't know about seekins barrels. I just know a lot of people in the pro circuit use their optic mounts
Message permalink: 712003794099241094
I’ve heard good reviews of their barrels
Message permalink: 712004081014669383
Not crazy high end but good for price
Message permalink: 712004118356557944
Yea carrying wise would be tough.
Message permalink: 712004262271385700
Go with a scar lol
Message permalink: 712004521387229215
Fuck that would be the best answer
Message permalink: 712004686932213851
Worst for the wallet
Message permalink: 712004704040648766
Lol sell the savage and bcm and you’ll be over halfway there
Message permalink: 712005251871539241
This dude was selling 3 of his on armslist for stupid cheap to pay for wife’s medical bills
Message permalink: 712005409623506964
DMR is definitely an official military term lmao, it’s not from halo
Message permalink: 712006019047358464
Never said it wasn’t
Message permalink: 712006213818253352
5.56 is perfectly capable of precision engagements at 500 yards
Message permalink: 712006234689110036
Yea I plink 550 at my range 8” steel targets
Message permalink: 712006406269829127
Been considering putting my accupoint on my 11.5. The Huey is nice but the only thing I don't like is the battery life
Message permalink: 712006684314435695
I was surprised at just how short 1500 hours is
Message permalink: 712007205863292930
It’s capable of hitting targets but .308 and 6.5 grend hit it with a hell of a lot more energy
Message permalink: 712007470737915904
I mean like you’re technically correct
Message permalink: 712008193676673157
The best kind
Message permalink: 712008585277603952
And I can put 6.5 grendel in an AR15
Message permalink: 712008632421580912
And the only increase in weight is really the ammunition
Message permalink: 712008678731153489
Which isn’t that much of an increase
Message permalink: 712008710129713153
How to tell if someone shoots 6.5 grendel: they'll let you know before you ask. Jkjk, I hear it's a nice round. I'm just not into wildcats
Message permalink: 712009292231737375
I don’t consider it a wildcat if I can find steel case
Message permalink: 712009376491372574
If it didn’t have a surplus option I’d discount it and go with a heavy 5.56 or .308
Message permalink: 712009525422719037
Certainly no 8mm nambu but it's still nonstandard. I might even have one if I made more money
Message permalink: 712009870760738878
Nonstandard sure
Message permalink: 712010275288514641
But good enough that I can stock it deep
Message permalink: 712010323632324678
Before rona I was considerig a 6.5 Grendel, steel case ammo was under 25cpr for a while
Message permalink: 712010711177363537
A good amount under
Message permalink: 712010745663193170
Yep
Message permalink: 712011175935737868
Oh damn that's pretty good
Message permalink: 712014887924138035
Reading up a little on 300blk. Granted given my track record of thinking of doing things, I probably won't build one, but the idea seems neat
Message permalink: 712034568122793985
Message permalink: 712035764459929771
Oh god oh fuck
Message permalink: 712035799742546020
Got my new yeet stick
Message permalink: 712035803622146080
I’ll get one for a truck gun
Message permalink: 712036063643959487

Message permalink: 712036156543336500
Yeah I was sorta considering the idea of a truck gun. Not for keeping in my truck since that's just supporting burglars, but something that I could take in my truck, move in and out of it with, and maybe take out into the woods or something. It'd also be the right size for my fiance
Message permalink: 712036453156126801
That is not a weapon that has any place in a civilised society. The Only possible use for such a thing is to murder small children and fluffy bunnies and that sort of gruesome violence must be stopped at all costs. You can not justify owning that weapon unless you intend to squishify cuddle little newborn otters. That is what that weapon was made for and they must all be taken off our streets!

Anybody recommend a PASGT helmet? I've been looking at them and the surplus isn't stupid expensive
Message permalink: 712062957026017372
So bottom line it would hold while I save up to replace it?
Message permalink: 712063642555908198
Let me look an an ACH, i may know what it is, just might not know the name
Message permalink: 712063768191828100
Yeah, lol. Almost the same thing
Message permalink: 712063947175624785
Thats not too far outside of the budget. You said its better, so I'll look around and determine. Thanks for the tip my guy
Message permalink: 712064071226097664
Fair enough. Especially in terms of surplus
Message permalink: 712064677978308610
@poorwithagat ACH is much much better than PASGT, I’d be happy to break it down if you’re curious
Message permalink: 712065348509106217
Tbh i would
Message permalink: 712065400191451177
Like whats the advantages over PASGT?
Message permalink: 712065450992992258
Any good iron sights recommendations?
Message permalink: 712076827165851761
@Elephant_seal yea, buy an optic
Message permalink: 712078032357163158
@𝔑𝔢đť”𝔥𝔯𝔦𝔰 lol I planned on it but I want to have back up sights
Message permalink: 712078631022886924
Would recommend against the plastic magpul mbus sights. They're not durable enough and can have their zero knocked loose. I might suggest KAC flip up irons
Message permalink: 712078999748214855
I've heard troy flip up irons are good but fuck troy ARMS are a classic but apparently you can break the back sight if you knock it into something
Message permalink: 712079290069418006
Lwrc skirmish sights FTW
Message permalink: 712081329227038760
KAC’s are the best if you can afford them. The magpul PRO’s are much better than the oem backups and are reasonably priced
Message permalink: 712081399401807883
@poorwithagat PASGT is heavier, protects against less threats, and doesn’t do suspicion harness well, doesn’t protect against TBI’s, and is much harder to attach other capabilities to
Message permalink: 712081583116517376
The leitner-wise (of lwrci) e-sites are supposed to be good to
Message permalink: 712081740872679444
The only advantage of the PASGT over the ACH is price, but ACH’s and equivalent contract helmets can be had for ~150
Message permalink: 712081999191343104
I’m gonna have to disagree with him there
Message permalink: 712087040522715147
Irons are a staple to a good rifle
Message permalink: 712087075507142736
I have a set of FAB defense tritium coming in soon, going to see how they work out.
Message permalink: 712089493678850108
I originally bought the magpuls for my cheap starter rifle, and I don't care for them, mostly because my old eyes won't focus correctly.
Message permalink: 712089787334524968
Volley sights or nothing...
Message permalink: 712089845408989257
I’m just saying at least get mbus sights before a vortex
Message permalink: 712090034513379378
Irons are gay tbh
Message permalink: 712091004555231335
And stand alone backups are outdated
Message permalink: 712091041854914631
Psych
Message permalink: 712091070057414686
Not when you’ve got a vortex crossfire that’ll break when you look at it funny
Message permalink: 712091159081648188
If you’re on a flat range go ahead ig
Message permalink: 712091217332142150
I remember him advocating for fixed front sight posts I think
Message permalink: 712092286175150113
My thought is, I've never had an optic fail on me, though most of them have been duty grade, but it's better to have a backup and know that it will hold zero than to not have it and have some wacky shit happen to your sight because the stars aligned.
Message permalink: 712092714526834720
I guess if your optic goes down, it's one less thing to worry about. Just flip up your back sight and go
Message permalink: 712093285019287753
Well use quality optics, and have other methods to aim your rifle, and then integrate backups into your other stuff
Message permalink: 712093732350066708
Have an acog on an offset mount with an rmr on top of it in case your main acog with rmr goes down

Just stop being poor *is* the answer
Message permalink: 712094392176869436
By the time you get to your enemy, your arms will be so big that they'll just get scared and run away
Message permalink: 712094434577219737
Some day I want to make enough money to afford nods and a laser, then probably never shoot it because ranges are only open at night for special events
Message permalink: 712095306363437116
I shoot under NODs the most with suppressed .22’s and crossbows, so I don’t piss of the neighbors
Message permalink: 712098420999061515
For people who actually shoot stuff for a living, do you reindex mags or use something like a dump pouch?
Message permalink: 712099195573501982
I've heard people say reindexing is bad, so I was curious
Message permalink: 712099494761595010
Depends on the mission set
Message permalink: 712100001882570823
Some places it’s a big no-no to leave mags behind, and I would never leave one in an overwatch position or hide. But FISH’n I drop them a lot
Message permalink: 712100203427266631
I was considering something like the trex arms dump pouch to throw mags into so I wouldn't have to drop them. I don't really have an endless supply after all
Message permalink: 712100918207971459
er maybe blueforce gear to avoid giving the tactical twink any money
Message permalink: 712101176669110312
I’ve got some roll up SSE bags, I don’t remember from who. Pockets are a real thing too
Message permalink: 712104955707916378
Some of my rifles I just run irons on them and some i have optics and backup irons just incase my optic get damaged. My Vz58 is just plain irons and i have spent so much time with that rifle that even out to 400 500 yards i can put rounds on target
Message permalink: 712105011961659452
It took me a while to get used to optics because I spent my entire childhood on irons, but once I finally did, I was much faster with optics
Message permalink: 712105186780250152
I agree a good optic sight beats irons but if you are capable enough with irons that's not a problem in a way and it's one less thing to worry about
Message permalink: 712105468884942899
Okay except, there are things you can do with dots and lpvo’s that you can not do with irons. Fact. Optics give you capabilities that irons do not.
Message permalink: 712105678176780370
Yep I agre
Message permalink: 712105726348099584
I need more practice time with lpvo's. I love red dots because I don't have to worry about my head being in the right spot to avoid scope shadow. Thankfully my accupoint has an extremely generous eye relief
