My 12.5" is my travel gun, I don't have the logistical capability to add another caliber to my stock

My 18" is both my go-to and a longer range build taking the roll of both a 16" and 20" so I'm just lost lol

I’m building my first ar chambered in .308 - any recommendations on where to buy quality mags?

Best bet is going to be the magpull 308 Pmags

I know there’s 308 AR lowers that take G3 mags. Just thought it was really cool, no idea if there any good

Anyone have experience with the LMT enhanced bolt carrier group? I've been looking at it but I've heard conflicting things on whether it'll work with short barrels. Specifically using a 12.5" Hodge FN barrel with a 0.069" gas port and an adjustable gas block. @Armorer

I think it’s awesome. Idk how good the tolerances are and they seem to take DPMS parts sizes so I’d just get a PTR91 but this is still cool

I like the AR-10 better than the PTR but G3 mags are dirt cheap

Because a lot of the parts for AR10s can be brand specific and not standard like AR15s it turned me off and I ended up just getting the PTR91 instead

AR10s are a much different beast than the 15 and for that reason I wouldn't recommend them very often

Yea I looked around a lot and that’s what I noticed they can be finicky and I wanted somthing rugged..... it’s heavy but it’s rugged lol

A heavy buffer tones that down a lot

I also run a 45 degree locking piece with a silencer

Just really sad the heavy buffer won’t fit inside the old walnut wood stocks

Back in 2013 I wanted the PTR91 to be my first personally owned firearm and super happy I didn't end up doing that just because learning to shoot with .308 would've been ass

I loved my AR10 but it was a beast that made my AR15 look so much nicer

The military went back to bolt action for their long range guns because intermediate calibers are enough for regular use and when shooting long range, you'll cycle the bolt before your round even hits anyway. The added moving parts in ar10 platforms just decreases reliability, which the SR25 had a serious problem with

308 is pretty fun though. 5.56 is just more economical

SR25 isn’t as reliable as a bolt gun

I haven’t looked into how reliable they’ve been throughout their service tho

I've had a little trigger time behind one but it was on a bench. Worked fine. It sounds like it may have problems when you start to get dust and sand in it, but it could be people not cleaning their shit

The SR25 is more reliable with dust and sand than the M40 is 😉

the bolt gets to about here and the the extractor slips off the rim and i have to manually take each round out
