If I were forced to use a shotgun and had to pick one, I'd probably go with a pre 2008 Remington 870 in a magpul stock full of 00 8 pellet flight control buck, then keep a shell holder with a couple slugs in it just in case.

Yeah, I have a post 08 Remington, and the finish kinda sucks.

It still works, and if you keep it clean, then it's alright. But the barrel is prone to rusting.

at least for the barrel of the gun I didn't have to deal with cleaning it as much

in oregon pellet loads have to be steel shot
