It's a proprietary design that strengthens a few parts and remains locked longer to open with lower chamber pressures, and vent gas to the side to help mitigate getting gassed with suppressor usage.

I've been keeping an eye on it for several weeks and it's been out of stock

Oh it also has cuts in the carrier that helps it remove sand, and decreases the contact surface between the carrier and the upper

It does require more gas to operate, which is usually fine as most ar's are overgassed

But finely tuned gucci stuff may have issues

I was going to go with an adjustable gas block anyway

so hopefully that could fix such an issue

@Confused why an lpvo and aimpoint?

Google sheets has an option to use checkboxes. Backup irons can fail too so might as well make the backup something good. Also the lpvo can be kept somewhere around 3x or higher while the aimpoint is used for close up shots

With most flip up irons, if you drop the gun directly on them while open, they have a decent chance of failing. Even some of the good ones like the rear ARMS sight. Some are better than others, but at that point you might as go with something more useful.

Even backup kac's will have a point of impact shift if you drop them. Funny enough this is where plastic excels, but magpul backup sights have other issues so i can't recommend them

I have the same problem. I have to research almost everything before buying and usually end up buying nothing

Regular stanag mags with magpul followers are good too

Mora doesn't have a full tang but they use carbon steel, which is good and easy to sharpen. You just have to take care of it so it doesn't rust

Strong vouch for mora as a budget blade

If it breaks you can just toss it because they're like 15 bucks on sale or something

Theyre like 25 bucks

Nah mora is basically disposable

Best 25 bucks ive spent on a knife, though

Zero tolerance is nice if you want a quality knife that doesn't look out of place with your suit or nicer clothes.

Spyderco also makes good folders. Kershaw is ZT's budget brand but still makes decent stuff. Benchmade makes good tactical knives and butterfly knives.

There's a particular knife that i really liked, but i forgot the name. My dad has a couple. They were designed by a guy with benchmade at the time who moved over to spyderco, who now makes them, but the benchmade version is more rare

I guess its got its appeal, but it just looks too heavy to keep on my person

Yeah, different use than what i look for. Thing looks to be built like a tank though

I was cutting in to an apple with my grizzly creek and a seed chipped the blade

If i had a mocrotech, id probably baby it too much and it would defeat the purpose of a pocketknife tbh

So a shop by me has an SVT 40 and I'm upset i don't have the capital to buy it

Once you hold an afck, you understand. You don't need an axis lock. You just grab the hole and pull it out of your pocket, then suddenly you have an open knife in your hand that's so ergonomic it feels like it's welded onto you.

My manix 2 is like that

This is my favorite knife

You can get it in axis now too

Granted the original titanium liner lock was known as the most robust and reliable liner lock ever made

But they have bad qc

The original was made back in the 90s and definitely had no qc issues. It had one issue, being the designer and benchmade had issues with each other and split
