So, picked up a wasr a while ago, finally got it out to the range, I cheaped out on my mags and went with Croatian ones, one works and feeds fine and I have a pmag that feeds fine

But rounds get caught under the bolt and don’t feed on the rest of them (3 other mags)

Wasn’t sure if it was an easily rectified issue

it sounds like you just need good mags

i have p mags and they work but most of them dont have metal locking tabs

and every ak owner should have at least one bake lite mag

Yeah, that’s kinda my assumption, I knew I was taking a chance on the Croatian mags

classic had some cheap af polish mags for 6usd

That’s the vibe I got, like Croatian ones are shit, but acceptably shit and usually function. I was hoping I could buy magpul followers since it looks like this follower is tilting, but I can’t find them anywhere

Got my upper receiver in. Looks pretty nice so far. The barrel port isn't undersized like bcm so the barrel just slides in, though idk if doing that actually helps accuracy or not.

There's so many firearm brands that it's hard to keep track of. I know most of the mainstream ones

do you care about high levels of accuracy or being able to take a higher round count?

I would like around .75 moa as this would be used for coyotes

From what i have heard they are good

Anyway, a gun for coyotes and possibly other varmint, you'd probably want a good quality stainless steel barrel, probably a medium or heavier profile. A few good brands that meet that are Criterion, Douglas, Krieger, Bartlein, and White Oak Armament

All should be sub moa with good ammo and capable of firing several shots in rapid succession without losing accuracy

many of which may be 0.5moa or smaller with hand rolled ammo

Yeah I was about to say, you're gonna need to heat it an possibly freeze your barrel. I had a hell of a time getting my barrel in one since I don't have a heat gun

hair dryer barely got it with a frozen barrel

I don't know if it actually improves accuracy but it seems neat

Also how much worse is an anderson lower

Like it doesnt seem that much worse from that to my aero

Often times they can be out of spec to the point where parts won't even fit. It's not as important as the upper receiver, but it can still cause problems with your fire control group and parts fit

Here's a short list of everything that can go wrong

I put it together with stuff I found online

So with my diamond back the upper and lower wiggle a little bit

But with my anderson and bcm there is no wiggle

Is it over sized?

Aero tends to be decent quality. I've gotten stuff slightly out of spec from them before but its been fixable. Only issue was an improperly threaded grip screw hole. Anderson has wildly varying tolerances. You can get lucky with stuff being out of spec in tighter fitting dimensions, but it's usually out of spec in ways that fuck up the gun

I also had to shave plastic off the pistol grip to get it to fit

in the diagram, you can find anderson lowers literally missing entire holes that should have been drilled, along with tolerances so loose you can slot a quarter between the upper and lower

Doesnt aero have a set screw instead of a pin because they have the enhanced lowers

They have a takedown pin and a set screw that tightens down on the upper, removing wobble
